Hot Tub Bacterium

hot tub bacterium

Exclusive summary about Hot Tub Bacterium by Scott Nichols

As part of the maintenance of the hot tub, the water is always kept clean. If this is not observed on a regular basis, hot tub bacterium or bacteria can thrive in the water, causing skin rashes and possibly other diseases.

A species of bacteria, Mycobacterium avium, is known to cause tuberculosis, and commonly grows in the cozy and warm temperatures of the hot tub. Chlorine and bromine are among the chemicals used to control bacterial growth in hot tub water. Hot tub folliculitis is a type of skin infection on the hair follicles which is brought about by immersion in a hot tub with unclean water.

The hot tub bacterium that causes the skin condition thrives in the contaminated water. When the presence of the hot tub bacterium is detected, the water from the tub needs to be drained, and the lining completely cleaned.

Importance of Hot Tub

Importance of Hot Tub

Exclusive summary about Importance of Hot Tub Anirban Bhattacharya

The latest innovation in this segment is hot tub entertainment systems, i.e. hot tubs with TVs and DVD combinations. What are the benefits of hot tubs or spas?

Hot tubs have beneficial physiological effect on the human body. Increased blood flow means better blood circulation and better nourishment of all the organs. Blood is over 90% water. No hot tub or spa can be effective unless you know how to relax.

The Importance of Hot Tub Covers

Exclusive summary about Importance of Hot Tub Cover By Kevin Stith

Hot tubs covers serve several purposes. Most hot tub covers are made of vinyl with steel frames.

Hot tub water is not treated with chlorine like swimming pool water, so it can get dirty easier. Hot tub covers protect the water from getting dirty while the tub is not in use.

Another feature of many high-end models of hot tub covers is that they can seal heat inside the tub. Hot tub covers are usually made of vinyl with steel rims. Hot tub covers are a great investment for people who own a spa.

Importance of Draining & Refilling Your Spa

Exclusive summary about Importance of Draining Hot Tub By Ronalg Parrs

That's why the spa MUST be regularly drained & refilled. But how often? Here's a formula...

1. Determine the number of gallons in the spa.

2. Divided the gallons by the average daily bather load (for example, 3 bathers, 2 times per week would equal approximately 1).

3. Then divide that number by 3 to get your answer (in days).

First example: a spa or hot tub with 300 gallons of water that is used by 2 people twice each day 5 - 7days (equals bather load of 4)

300 ÷ 4 = 75 ÷ 3 = 25 days or about once per month.

Second example: a spa or hot tub with 300 gallons of water that is used by 2 people once each day 5 - 7days (equals bather load of 2)

300 ÷ 2 = 150 ÷ 3 = 50 days or about once every 2 months.

This formula is not concrete, however it is a good guideline to follow. Depending on how much the spa is used directly determines how often it needs to be drained & refilled. Most commercial spas need to be drained & refilled their spas at least once per week! Or they should!

Make Your Hot Tubs Sparkle With Clean

Make Your Hot Tubs Sparkle With Clean

Cleaning your hot tub is mandatory since your tub is a breeding ground for bacteria that could cause diseases. Legionella and Pseudomonas bacteria are some that lurk in a dirty hot tub. Legionella bacteria can cause a fatal disease called Legionnaires disease. Meanwhile, Pseudomonas can trigger skin rashes, pneumonia, and eye infections.

Get that laziness out of your system and clean your hot tub! Here are some guidelines and instructions on how to clean your hot tub.

Replace your water once a month

Have you ever seen a pool where the water was not replaced in a year? It could get dark and muddy from dirt. As for hot tub, you can get the same results when you let the water stay for a long time. So replace it once a month and no longer. Dirt and bacteria can stay in the water for a long time which could harm you and your family. Safe and clean water is always the best.

Scrub, scrub, and rinse!

After draining the water from the tub, don't just refill it with clean water! The real place for bacteria to lurk into is on the walls and the floor. Get your cleanser, whether a recommended cleanser for hot tubs or a bleach solution. Get your muscles going by scrubbing the walls to release the dirt. Also include the surfaces and the deck on scrubbing to maintain a clean tub once someone dips in.

After the scrubbing is done, rinse the walls and floor with water. Make sure no bleach solution remains since it could produce bubbles in the hot tub water or make the water muddy and unclear.

Put disinfectants. Read: Chlorine

Chlorine is the most popular disinfectant used in hot tubs and in pools. They reduce the harmful effects of water for the users safety. It is recommended to put chlorine tablets in the tub once a week for it to be fully sanitized.

Clean the filters

The filters should be cleaned once every two weeks, especially when the hot tub is used regularly. The filter can be cleaned by using a garden hose and spraying the filter to remove unwanted dirt. You can also use commercial cleaning solutions after rinsing it with water. These filters should be replaced once a year.

Hot tubs are most enjoyable to dip in when they are in their cleanest state. You can soak without worry and let the troubles and all your problems slip away as you relax with the massage provided by your hot tub.
